Helmut co-founded Powerbot, an algorithmic intraday trading platform for European power markets, after building an early version of it as a side project inside an energy consultancy in 2017.
By 2020, Powerbot had grown from a proof of concept into a standalone company. Under his leadership it became the largest intraday trading installation base in Europe by number of customers.
Powerbot joined Volue and Helmut now leads Volue's commercial operations business unit, spanning trading software and optimization, and is building the group's multi-market trading orchestration platform.
He describes himself as an energy market specialist first: someone who built tools for his own peers before turning them into a product.
