Gemini TerraPlan

Gemini Terrain has an advanced module for visualisation, analysis and animation called TerraPlan.

Lightworks is an extended drawing library that allows for sun/shadow analysis and storage of video animations. Lightworks also includes animation of sunlight (eg morning to evening on a given date, place and time of year), animation along a line in the map (possibly a custom line, or a road centre line), as well as saving animations as video film (* .avi).

GIS analysis of landscapes can be used in connection with the area planning of future housing areas. In a classic landscape analysis, different types of surface analyzes are run on the basis of a terrain model. The results from these analyzes can be various thematic maps such as slope maps, exposure maps, sun / shadow maps, visibility maps etc.

Another type of analysis is 'overlay analysis', which is used to combine properties from many different data sets. In connection with zoning plans, landscape analysis can be used to find areas that are suitable for special purposes or are exposed to risks that must be given special consideration in the zoning process.
