Accurate, Automated FASIT Reporting

The only fault and outage reporting solution built natively into Volue's NIS/DMS ecosystem, trusted by over 30 Norwegian DSOs to meet their mandatory FASIT obligations every year.

Fault & Outage Reporting Software for Norwegian DSOs

Volue FASIT enables Norwegian DSOs to register, calculate, and submit mandatory fault and outage reports to Statnett’s FASIT-Hub via ECP/EDX, as well as deliver yearly aggregated reporting to NVE/RME.

For DSOs, regulatory reporting is deadline-driven and detail-sensitive, and disconnected systems can create unnecessary manual work, duplicate entry, and higher risk of reporting errors.

Volue FASIT solves this by working natively with NETBAS and Volue ADMS, so grid topology, component data, and outage information flow directly into reporting workflows, helping DSOs reduce manual effort and report with greater consistency.

KEY FEATURES

Regulatory-Ready Reporting

Full implementation of the yearly updated FASIT specification, certified for each new reporting year. DSOs are always compliant with the current regime, without having to track specification changes themselves.

Native NIS/DMS Integration

Grid model and component data flow automatically from NETBAS; outage and disruption data flow from Volue ADMS. This eliminates manual data bridging, reduces entry errors, and enables automatic KILE calculations based on real grid topology.

Accurate KILE/CENS Calculation

KILE is calculated for every registered event using reference temperatures centrally sourced from DNMI via the Frost API. Volue manages and distributes these centrally, removing complexity from individual DSO installations and ensuring consistent calculations across all customers.

Automation via Volue FASIT Automate

Automation via Volue FASIT Automate

Automatically processes, calculates, and submits simple FASIT reports from Volue ADMS without manual intervention. Configurable parameters control which report types and KILE thresholds are auto-processed, particularly effective for planned outages and low-voltage events

ECP/EDX Communication & Multi-DSO Coordination

Reports are submitted directly to Statnett's FASIT-Hub and other DSOs via the national ECP/EDX infrastructure. A dual-driver architecture supports both on-premise installations and Volue's cloud-hosted ECPMessageService in Azure.

Strategic Grid Intelligence via API

More than six years of fault data, linked to specific grid components, are exposed via the Volue FASIT Data API for Power BI, dashboards, and analytics tools. Compliance data becomes a foundation for maintenance planning and investment prioritization.

Regulatory-Ready Reporting

Full implementation of the yearly updated FASIT specification, certified for each new reporting year. DSOs are always compliant with the current regime, without having to track specification changes themselves.

Regulatory Certainty Every Year

Volue FASIT is certified for each new reporting year. DSOs stay compliant without tracking specification changes themselves.

Significantly Less Manual Work

Volue Fasit Automate processes routine events automatically, freeing operators to focus on complex cases that require human judgment.

Accurate KILE That Protects Income Cap Performance

Centrally managed reference temperatures and automatic customer data import ensure KILE figures are correct every time.

Six-Plus Years of Fault Data Ready to Use

Outage data linked to grid components feeds maintenance planning and investment prioritization via Power BI and the Volue Fasit Data API.

USLA Compensation Handled Automatically

Volue FASIT USLA API identifies customers entitled to compensation for extraordinarily long outages, removing manual eligibility assessment entirely.

USE CASES

Every Norwegian DSO must register, calculate, approve, and submit all fault and outage reports to Statnett via ECP/EDX within strict deadlines. Volue FASIT handles this end to end, from event registration through KILE calculation to direct ECP/EDX submission. Structured workflows and deadline tracking ensure nothing falls through the gaps, even during high-volume outage periods.

KILE is the financial instrument NVE/RME uses to limit DSO profitability when quality of supply falls below acceptable levels. Volue FASIT manages reference temperatures, customer end-user data, and outage parameters automatically, so KILE figures are correct every time. DSOs can manage their income cap position confidently and avoid both under-reporting risk and financial loss.

When an outage spans sections belonging to multiple DSOs, each party must coordinate and file consistent FASIT reports with Statnett. Volue FASIT structures the ECP/EDX message flows, tracks coordination deadlines, and ensures each party submits aligned reports. Mismatched multi-DSO filings are among the most common sources of FASIT regulatory risk.

DSOs running Volue FASIT since the 2019 redesign now have six or more years of fault data linked to individual grid components. Via the VolueFasitDataAPI, this dataset is available in Power BI and other tools, enabling teams to identify high-failure-rate components, prioritize investments, and move from reactive to risk-based grid management.

Volue FASIT is available as a standalone product for Norwegian DSOs on any NIS/DMS platform, and as a fully integrated component within the Volue NIO (Network Information & Operations) SaaS platform. Within NIO, FASIT is part of the Fault & Outage Reporting workflow, co-designed with NETBAS and Volue ADMS so that grid model data, switching state, and outage records share a common foundation. APIs from the FASIT suite are also available through the NIO Integration Gateway (NIG) for platform-level integrations.
