Necessary theoretical layers for mass calculation can be user-defined based on project needs (superstructure, reinforcement, backfill, etc).
The user interface is similar to the other modules in Terrain: all commands are handled through functions in the construction pit object. The main surfaces of the object are designed using break lines, points, boundary- and hole contours. The side surfaces are defined with optional parameters, such as rock shelf, ditch, different cutting angles etc.
