Volue, the leader in electrification technology, has announced a new agreement with BayWa r.e. for the delivery of Volue Ancitra, its cloud-based solution for fully managing participation in European ancillary markets. The deal will strengthen the automated ancillary market capabilities of BayWa r.e.’s energy trading business.

BayWa r.e. is an international developer of wind, solar and battery storage projects, active across the full value chain - from planning, development and construction to operations, maintenance and energy trading. With more than 6 GW of renewable energy successfully brought online worldwide, BayWa r.e. plays a central role in accelerating the global shift to clean power.

As balancing markets across Europe become increasingly harmonised and digitalised, renewable developers and asset owners require greater automation, clarity and operational efficiency. Ancitra provides a transparent overview of all bids submitted and their outcomes, covering both balancing capacity and energy activation markets, with direct interfaces to Transmission System Operators (TSOs).

For companies operating complex and diverse portfolios, the solution simplifies the process of meeting market obligations while unlocking new revenue opportunities from flexibility.

Customers can deploy Ancitra as a standalone application for ancillary market bidding or seamlessly integrate it with their existing production planning and optimisation tools using a standard API. As a cloud-based SaaS solution, Ancitra requires no installation, configuration or maintenance.

Commenting on the deal, Felipe Lanza, VP, Trading Software at Volue, said: BayWa r.e. is one of Europe’s most forward-thinking renewable developers, and we are proud to support their energy trading operations.

“Ancitra gives customers the transparency, automation and operational confidence they need to participate effectively in ever-changing ancillary markets. By reducing complexity and risk in bidding processes, while enabling seamless integration with planning and optimisation workflows, we help our customers focus on what matters most: operating renewable assets efficiently and unlocking the full value of flexibility.”

Udo Wappler, Teamlead Trading Operations, BayWa r.e. Energy Trading, said: “With Ancitra, BayWa r.e. Energy Trading has a powerful solution that reliably automates and rule-based optimises our trading activities in balancing energy products. At the same time, Ancitra significantly reduces the effort required for the API connection to the balancing power platform.”
