Intraday trading in Central and South-Eastern Europe is entering a new phase. On 20 October 2026, BSP SouthPool (Slovenia), HUPX (Hungary) and SEEPEX (Serbia) come together in one common ADEX intraday continuous market. For intraday desks, that means one exchange, three market areas and a simpler, harmonised trading setup.
From 20 October 2026, Volue Intraday AlgoTrader VATP and PowerBot are connected to the ADEX Intraday Continuous Market. Traders keep their algorithms, strategies and risk controls, and point them to a single exchange instead of three. Both platforms are ready from the first trading hour.
The Alpine-Adriatic Danube Power Exchange (ADEX) is the first regional power exchange for Central and South-Eastern Europe. It was established in December 2022 in Ljubljana by ELES, EMS and EPEX SPOT, following the merger of BSP and SEEPEX. In November 2024, ADEX merged with the Hungarian Power Exchange (HUPX). Now headquartered in Budapest, ADEX is the sole shareholder of BSP, HUPX and SEEPEX. Its shareholders are ELES, EPEX SPOT, EMS and MAVIR. (Source: adex-spot.com/about)
For traders, the result is a more harmonised marketplace. One trading limit applies across all three market areas. Price limits and order settings are aligned. Local rules stay where they matter: each market keeps its own delivery area, trading schedule and gate closure, and Hungary and Slovenia remain coupled to the pan-European intraday market (SIDC). Volue Intraday AlgoTrader VATP and PowerBot already run battle-proven execution algorithms on HUPX, BSP SouthPool and, for PowerBot, SEEPEX. The ADEX connection carries that coverage into the new market and adds Serbia to VATP for the first time. One integration now reaches three market areas, with the same algorithms, monitoring and audit trail traders use on every other Volue-connected exchange.
Volue's intraday algorithms are trusted by more than 220 customers and execute around 221 million trades a year across 14 European exchanges. ADEX joins that footprint from day one.
"Exchange consolidation should strengthen a trading desk, not interrupt it. Our ADEX connection is built on the same M7 integration our customers already rely on, so the switch comes down to new credentials, not a new way of working. Traders keep the algorithms and risk controls they trust and gain access to Hungary, Slovenia and Serbia through a single exchange. As ADEX brings the region together, we make sure our customers are trading there from day one."
Oscar Egnell, Trading Product Manager, Volue
ADEX issues production credentials to its members on 13 October 2026, and the new market opens for trading on 20 October 2026. Before go-live, customers complete a short setup in VATP or PowerBot using these credentials. The legacy HUPX, BSP and SEEPEX markets remain available in both platforms during ADEX's one-week fallback period, until 27 October 2026.
Volue's Customer Success and Support teams are guiding customers through each stage of the migration with step-by-step instructions. We recommend customers follow these communications closely and contact their Volue team with any questions.
