Volue and Deftpower have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of smart electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions across Norway. This collaboration tackles inconsistent charging, network interoperability, and pricing inefficiencies to create a smoother EV charging experience while supporting grid sustainability.
Despite leading in EV adoption, Norway's charging network remains fragmented. Varying standards among providers create a disjointed user experience, while the lack of unified pricing hinders cost-effective charging for large-scale users.
To address these issues, Deftpower worked with the Norsk Elbilforening (The Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association) to launch Ladeklubben, a service aimed at improving interoperability and enhancing the charging experience. As part of this initiative, Volue , Deftpower and Norsk Elbilforening are now incentivising EV owners to charge their vehicles during optimal periods, easing pressure on the grid and promoting sustainable energy consumption.
Drivers in areas covered by Norgesnett can receive discounts for charging in a grid-friendly manner. Volue’s technology ensures that excess energy is used efficiently, rewarding consumers who opt for off-peak charging. This approach not only lowers energy demand during peak hours but also enhances grid reliability.
Deftpower plays a crucial role in streamlining the EV ecosystem by connecting drivers, energy providers, and charging networks. Their white-label SaaS platform enables smarter charging, helping both drivers and mobility service providers (MSPs) reduce costs and optimise charging efficiency.
“By working together with Volue, we are making smart charging the norm rather than the exception, and we’re enabling EV drivers to charge when it’s most cost-effective and beneficial for the grid,” said Jacob van Zonneveld, CEO and co-founder of Deftpower. “Our platform bridges the gap between stakeholders across Europe, making the transition to widespread electrification more efficient and rewarding for everyone involved,” he adds.
With this partnership, Volue continues to push forward innovative energy solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and consumer friendly. The collaboration with Norsk Elbilforening and Deftpower represents a major step toward expanding smart charging solutions across Europe.
“Smart EV charging isn’t just about convenience - it’s about transforming home charging from a grid challenge into a key part of the energy solution,” said Kjetil Storset, Head of Spark by Volue. “By working with the Norwegian EV Association and Deftpower, we’re empowering drivers to charge more intelligently, save money, and contribute to a more resilient power grid,” he adds.
By leveraging innovative technology and strategic partnerships, Volue is driving the development of a more connected and efficient EV charging ecosystem. This latest activity with Deftpower promises to benefit EV owners, strengthen grid stability, and accelerate the shift toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
