Two debates. One day.

At Arendalsuka 2026, Volue is joining the conversation. During Arendalsuka, organisations, political parties, businesses, and media houses from across Norway put important societal issues on the agenda through their own events.

Volue runs two debates In Norwegian:

Debate 1

⏱️ Time: 13:30–14:30
📍 Location: Arendals Fossekompani | Langbryggen 9, Rooftop

Statnett stops major grid connections in the north — what does this mean for the rest of Norway and data centres?

There's a growing gap in how the grid's real capacity is understood: local grid companies argue there's available capacity, while Statnett disagrees. Local actors are pushing for conditional connection agreements — terms customers are willing to accept — but Statnett has so far said no.

Tor Reier Lilleholt, Head of Analysis at Volue, will open the debate with live simulations: what would actually happen if we increased capacity in key cross-sections? What does the data show about where the real constraints are?

⏱️ Time: 15:00–16:00
📍 Location: Arendals Fossekompani | Langbryggen 9, Rooftop

Who understands the flow-based market coupling — and what is it doing to your electricity bill?

Belgium, Easter 2026: –15,000 EUR/MWh in the middle of the night because solar power came in 1,400 MW above forecast. Central Norway paying more than France when the wind blows. NO2 becomes Europe's most expensive price zone when the continent runs dry.

Flow-based market coupling — FBMC — is the system designed to optimise all of this.
It's also a system that almost nobody can explain in a way that actually makes sense. Volue can. It's not magic. It's physics and algorithms — and it determines your electricity bill.
